Windows Vista-Unblocking Ports?

Posted by admin on Aug 16th, 2006

Hey guys,Having a bit of a problem. Here's the situation:My Internet works just great, so does my wireless printing, and so on. So, my problem is when I game on Halo: Combat Evolved. See, when I try and host a server, no one can join. This is because (software problem) ports 2302 and 2303 are being blocked. I have tried everything, I MEAN everything. I have tried disabling all my firewalls (Windows Firewall, Windows Defender, and Windows Live OneCare). I am connecting through a router but I know for sure that is not the problem. I have another computer in the house not having the same problem, it is on Windows XP. This computer (on Halo) use to run great...before the upgrade to Windows Vista Business Edition. I guess my problem here is that I need to somehow unblock the port in Windows Vista. Can you guys please help me with this? Thanks for all your help in advance! Paul Rosenthal

sounds like your router not the computer you need to setup a port forward or port trigger on your router check your manufactor website for how to do that with your model "Paul"
