Windows Complete PC Backup Stops before completion and force

Posted by admin on Jan 8th, 2007

After having made a base image and a couple of followup images, I tried to make another image the other day, only to have the backup stop in the middle (briefly showing a blank screen) and immediately start rebooting. When I opened up the "Backup and Restore Center" from the control panel, the "Last backup:" listed under "Create a Windows Complete PC Backup and Restore..." was from months ago (my last successful image). When I looked in the Backup drive, I could find the WindowsImageBackup folder and in it I could find the name of the computer and within that I could find a Backup folder with the seemingly correct date and another folder named Catalog.I thought that maybe the WindowsImageBackup folder became corrupt so I renamed it and ran the Windows Complete PC Backup again, but still, it stopped prior to completion with a blank screen and then immediately rebooted. It did however create a new WindowsImageBackup folder, subfolder (that seemed to be filled with data).Don't know where the problem lies. Is there a way to reset Complete PC Backup? Make it think no backups exist and that it needs to restart? Michael Hockstein
