Why are emails scanned each time I open Windows Mail?

Hi,I can't figure this one out myself and McAfee technical support merely directed me to a help page for Outlook Express. :(Each time I open Windows Mail, McAfee Security Center launches and scans each and every message (in my Inbox and every folder). As I am an email packrat, it takes forever to get an email session started. Why does it want to rescan messages that it already scanned and deemed safe?Does this happen to everyone that uses McAfee? Is this a Windows Mail issue or a McAfee issue? I'm using this on a new Dell with Microsoft Vista Home Premium. My old machine used Norton so I'm new to understanding how McAfee works. Thanks!Linette

If email scanning is already turned off, uninstall McAfee and install a better antivirus because McAfee is truly dreadful. Recommended programs are NOD32, Kaspersky, and Avast (free). It's definitely a McAfee issue. I won't allow anything "McAfee" on my computers, so I can't help you with how to disable the scanning. The fact that McAfee tech support could not advise you tells you volumes about their competence or lack of it.Gary VanderMolen"Linette Koren"
