"Walter Cohen" The actual messages are no longer stored in the database, but a lot of data about the messages is, and the database needs to be compacted every so often. By default WinMail will do this every 25th time it is shut down. Tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance Frank Saunders, MSMVP OE/WM fjsmjs.com Answer in newsgroup. Don't expect an answer to email.
