Vista, Itunes and Adobe
Posted by admin on Oct 30th, 2006
I am having several issues with Vista. First, in Itunes, when I am downloading I can no longer resume when the internet connection is interrupted. As I am in Iraq this occurs often. It resets back to zero and restarts. My connection is slow and unreliable. I can't figure out how to fix this so it restarts where it left off like it did with XP. Second, I am trying to install Adobe Photoshop CS 2.3. I installed it last week and had to deinstall. It will not completely deinstall, there is a hidden file in the installshield folder that is says I do not have permission to delete. How is this possible? I installed it and I am the administrator?? It also tells me when I try to install that is does not support the characters in the program files (86), which it did last week. Anyone have any ideas? I would appreciate the help. I am about ready to set my computer outside the gate and let someone blow it up.

Last I heard, ITunes wasn't compatible with Vista so installing it can cause all sorts of problems that you haven't anticipated. We have ITunes on the computer at work and it's a real PITA to use because of this.I've heard of similar problems with Photoshop but am not real familiar with it. John"Nichole" wrote:

NicholeThere are updates available for iTunes on the apple website.Adobe just stated that they will not be providing updates to make their legacy applications compatible with Vista.Adobe snubs Vista compatibility News PC Advisor: pcadvisor.co.uk/news/index.cfm?newsid=8753Adobe Press Release: adobe.com/support/products/pdfs/adobe_products_and_windows_vista.pdfAlso, make sure that you use Windows Update to get the latest compatibility updates. Thank you, gentlemen, for your input. The itunes is mostly working, just the occassional missing music and the downloads not working exactly right. I am very disappointed about the Adobe. I guess I shouldn't have waited so long to purchase it. I wonder what adobe thinks they are going to accomplish. "Ronnie Vernon MVP" wrote:
