Posted by admin on Sep 11th, 2006
I was wondering if this a common problem with windows vista. I have home premium it came preinstalled. I just purchased the computer less than a month ago. It freezes for no reason I don't have to be doing anything for it to freeze, the mouse stops working there is no way to bring up the task manager to see if anything is running ctrlshiftesc won't even work.

I would recommend contacting your computer's customer support folks for advice, and start making a case for repair or replacement if the problem cannot be solved. This is not normal behaviour and especially not in a new computer. Richard G. Harper [MVP Shell/User] rgharper@gmail.com * NEW! It was like this from the very beginning? Or, did it start after you finished installing something? If it was like this out of the box, return it under warranty and quickly. If it started after you installed something, think back. You could not have install too much in a month. Uninstall the program that is causing the problem. If all else fails, contact the manufacturer, as a new computer should not be doing this. It was like this from the beginning before I installed anything on it. To be honest the only things I have installed are msn messanger and windows live mail. How long do you have to return it under warrenty? Its a HP "Richard Urban" wrote:

Then you know what you must do. Don't waste any time in doing it. I don't know what your warranty is but you have likely already past the point where you can use your return privileges at the point of purchase. Regards,Richard Urban MVP Microsoft Windows Shell/User "mylilbit6"
