Hi Bill, In Vista Windows Mail go to Tools, then Options and Spelling is one of the tabs. I found it was correctly ticked but did not work telling me there was no spelling support for the English language! Anyway I ticked "always check spelling before sending" then 'apply'. Send an email and the speller kicks in. Go back to Tool, Options, Spelling and untick the "always check ...." box and it should work from there in. You then move on to the other horrors of this smart new piece of software from the mighty Micrsoft. Good luck.
