hello.i was wondering if there was a way to have your address book/contacts docked inside win mail rather than having to open a seperate window when you press contacts.e.g. in outlook express you could have the address book stituated below the folder list if you wanted. selected via; view layout.i liked having my contacts "within reach" as it were, rather than opening a whole other window...anyone know what i mean?

I agree with you. I liked being able to doubleclick on a contact to initiate sending them a message. I dislike the separate window business. Perhaps this will be an option we can select in some future update.vanillawatercress_soup wrote:hello.i was wondering if there was a way to have your address book/contacts docked inside win mail rather than having to open a seperate window when you press contacts.e.g. in outlook express you could have the address book stituated below the folder list if you wanted. selected via; view layout.i liked having my contacts "within reach" as it were, rather than opening a whole other window...anyone know what i mean?

Microsoft decided that since so few people were using this feature they eliminated it. Most of the time people do a Reply, or they click on Write Message, type a few letters of the recipient's name in the To line, and autocomplete should fill in the rest. Most of the time there's no need to open the Contacts list.Gary VanderMolen "vanilla"

Put the Contacts Gadget on the Side Bar."vanilla"

It would be nice if autocomplete worked like it did in OE. MS must have NEVER tested Windows Mail because half the good features that did work in OE are now gone or just don't work anymore in WM. A real abortion if you ask me."Frank Saunders, MSMVP OE/WM"

Unfortunately MS came out with Windows Mail very late in the Vista beta testing cycle. By the time beta testers started submitting bugs, MS was gearing up towards RTM, and only egregious "show stopper" bugs got fixed.Gary VanderMolen "Donald Kaufmann"

I'll admit that I didn't test autocomplete, but then I never use it. I had enough other stuff I wanted fixed. They fixed some of it."Donald Kaufmann"
