Screen saver never comes on

Posted by admin on Oct 15th, 2006

Help, no matter how little of a delay I have, my screen saver NEVER turns on. I can leave the computer for 8 hours only to come back to the desktop still there! I have tried different screen savers, different wait times, never activates...help!

"Tam" wrote Do you have a wireless mouse? It's a known problem with certain of them. By the way this is not a performance and maintenance issue. It would be better posted in the general newsgroup. Rock [MSMVP User/Shell]

TamThere is an optional update in Windows Update.. these are the details off of my own computer.. take a look at the URLs..Microsoft Other Hardware HID NonUser Input Data FilterInstallation date: ‎06/‎02/‎2007 10:57Installation status: SuccessfulUpdate type: OptionalMicrosoft Other Hardware software update released in January, 2007More information: winqual.microsoft.com/support/?driverid=20031770More information: support.microsoft.com/select/?target=hubIf you do not see the update in the list of possibles, try uninstalling DreamScene, and then revisit WU.. as weird as it seems, the update reappeared.. it worked for one person for sure.. he didn't reapply DreamScene, but I suspect that one could having gotten the 'wireless receiver fix.."Tam" Mike Hall MS MVP Windows Shell/User msmvps.com/blogs/mikehall/

So, does this update fix the problem with a wireless mouse? and can you be more specific where to find that update? When I click on the URL links, I just go to an information page that tells what drivers are, nothing about updates. "Mike Hall MS MVP Windows Shell/User" wrote:
