Refund on Family Discount Promotion

Posted by admin on Sep 8th, 2006

I got Ultimate Upgrade which I used to buy 2 additional license keys for Home Premium Upgrade, unfortunately I couldnt upgrade my laptop because I found out it needs a retail installation, thus the keys didnt work for that. they keys have never been registered and I want to refund them. so far I have been directed to many departments but couldnt get to the right people. Any help is appreciated.

Your Ultimate Upgrade is retail.Apparently you can not get a refund: microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/familydiscount.mspx "Software licenses purchased through electronic transmission online or over the Internet are not eligible for a refund"Exactly what happens when you try to upgrade the laptop? Apparently the new BIOS isnt useful enough to show correct info on the Upgrade Advisor, whenever I try to upgrade, i get 0x0000006F error with titale Session3 initialization failed."Jupiter Jones [MVP]" wrote:

msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/enus/w2kmsgs/1216.aspThe article references Windows 2000, but I would suspect that the same would apply to Vista. What make and model of laptop are you trying to upgrade? Jane, not plain ;) 64 bit enabled :) Batteries not included. Braincell on vacation ;) "Office Junkie"
