Problem with Vista Mail

Posted by admin on Jun 1st, 2007

When I start up Windows Mail, things are ok. New mail is downloaded without problem. But if I push "send/receive" or select "synchronize", the detail window pops up and reports an error. No emails are downloaded. The error window does not report any specifics about the error that occured.I have to restart Mail in order to download new email.Other mail programs like Thunderbird and Outlook work without a hitch.Any idea how to correct this? Thanks.

Now this is not account specific.I have 3 mail accounts.I can do "receive all". Works fine. I can select each account individually. Works fineIf I select "send all" or "sychronize all" or "send and receive all" this message pops up. 0 of 1 tasks completed. Error occured.but the error window itself is empty.BTW: I can send email just fine. only the send/receive function which I need to update my mail does not work.Peter "mikeyhsd" schrieb im Newsbeitrag might try to do your accounts one at a time to try and tie it down to which one has the problem. mikeyhsd@sport.rr.commikeyhsd@sport.rr.com "Peter" When I start up Windows Mail, things are ok. My ISP's news server, news.prodigy.net, also carries these newsgroups, and I'm sure these newsgroups are propagated to other NNTP servers.Percentagewise the HTML posters here are very few.Gary VanderMolen"mikeyhsd" we are not posting in usenet. these postings are on Microsoft's news servers. html has always been welcome.mikeyhsd@sport.rr.commikeyhsd@sport.rr.com "Gary VanderMolen" Sounds like you had an undeletable message stuck in your Outbox.BTW, Usenet posts should not be in HTML.Gary VanderMolen"Peter Roed @gmx.de>" <peter.roed<nospam> Now this is not account specific.I have 3 mail accounts.I can do "receive all". "Gary VanderMolen" OP, mikey, you and I are all using the MS servers, where HTML is definitely permitted. If other servers slurp the microsoft.public newsgroups that's their problem, not ours or Microsoft's. Frank Saunders, MSMVP OE/WM fjsmjs.com Answer in newsgroup. Don't expect an answer to email.

  9. anonymous Says:

"Frank Saunders, MSMVP OE/WM" The problems with posting HTML here, as I see it:1. The HTML format option in WinMail/OE is not configurable per server. So someone who posts HTML here is likely to do so in nonMS newsgroups. A a matter of fact, I frequently see the OP post HTML in the newsgroup alt.cellular.sprintpcs, a definite faux pas.2. When people like myself who *always* post in plain text, reply to a HTML post, the indenting is stripped, and it becomes difficult to discern who wrote what. Gary VanderMolen
