"Open command prompt here" and "Copy as path"
Posted by admin on Apr 2nd, 2007
In Vista it seems right clicking a file or folder with the Shift key held down reveals the 2 above (very useful) options in the shortcut menu. They're so useful, in fact, I want them to appear in the regular rightclick shortcut menu, without having to hold down shift.Possible? Thanks

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\cmd Underneath this is a value named "Extended". Delete this value. With this value present then Command Prompt here is only available with a shift + right click useless feature for mouse users. The other one is a program so can't be changed. "Moody Marco"

<.> Not sure I follow making this registry change will do *what*, exactly?

If extended is there you need to hold shift. That's what extended means. "Moody Marco"

And I said delete. The presence of the named value itself is the setting not the contents asigned to it. "Moody Marco"

Ok, I done this, and it works for "Open command prompt here", but I still need to hold shift to get "Copy as path" to show<.>

As I said the second one is a program. It adds itself to the menu. It does not have configuration options. "Moody Marco"
