Leaving Messages on Server
Posted by admin on Apr 29th, 2007
I would like to be able to leave messages on the server after reading them in Vista Mail. I couldn't find that option in the mail options. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks. I will take posts or email. Chuck Tanner malbrook@comcast.net

Be advised that at some point you'll exceed the storage limit on the server, and your ISP will stop accepting new incoming email for you.Gary VanderMolen "Deb or Dave"

There is also the option to delete after a number of days. Its a very useful feature so one can redundantly download one's messages onto different machines, or redownload the messages, should they get lost on the client machine.steve"Gary VanderMolen"

Right. Any advice to leave mail on the server should include the caveat to use the "remove from server after xx days" option.Gary VanderMolen "Steve Cochran"

POP3 is the most common account type for personal e‑mail. Messages are typically deleted from the server when you check your e‑mail. I looked, searched and was really upset. Is it possible there is another version of windows vista email that has this feature. This absolutely says once you check your messages they are kapoot!!!!!!!!

No, Vista does not have that option... it's in Windows Mail, which is included with Vista. What program are you reading your email in?"chimommy"

"chimommy" Windows Mail does too have a serring to Leave messages on the server but not all mail servers allow it. Tools | Accounts Select the account and choose Properties. Go to the Advanced tab. Frank Saunders, MSMVP OE/WM Do not send mail.
