how to remove a file location from drop down browse list?

Posted by admin on Jan 5th, 2007

When I go to change desktop theme, there is a drop down list to select file location. when I browse and choose a file, the file location is added to the drop down list. What can I do to remove/edit this drop down list? I'd like to do the same for Slide Show on sidebar.

Hi, You're talking about Desktop *Theme* and not Desktop Background right? To remove entries from the Themes listing, you need to actually move/delete the *.theme files from these locations:%windir%\resources\themes %appdata%\Microsoft\windows\themes %userprofile%\documents (and subfolders) Move the custom themes (which you want to remove from the listing) them to a different drive or folder. Do not delete the default theme files. To clear the Desktop Background listing, see:How do you clear the Desktop Background "Picture Location" History in Windows Vista: winhelponline.com/articles/144/1/ More information would help!
