Driving me crazy....

Posted by admin on Sep 29th, 2006

I just got a laptop with the windows vista program and the new windows mail program. For the life of me, I can't set up the mail program using my wireless broadband router connection. I have contacted my ISP company, HP computers (wants $60 for consult) and microsoft for help and they all route me to each other. I'm going in circles and getting no where. Is there anyone out there with some plain common computer sense that can walk me through this? From the looks of the emails here, the windows mail program is a common problem. Thanks for any help.....

"Peg" So what have you tried, what happens when you try, etc etc etc. You must give SOME detailed information rather than generic statements like "for the life of me I can't set up...."

First turn off email scanning of your antivirus software. See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 Its causing lots of trouble in WinMail.Next go to Tools | Accounts | Add | Mail and supply the requested information to the wizard.steve"Peg"

"Peg" Any error messages you can pass along? What problems are you having? Hard to diagnose the problem when we don't know the symptoms. Kind of akin to taking your car to the garage and telling the mechanic it makes a noise and nothing else.

"Rose Velez" Outlook, Outlook Express or Windows Mail?If it's Outlook, be best to post in the Outlook newsgroups. Likewise for Outlook Express. If it's Windows Mail. some additioal info would be handy to have like any error messages. My crystal ball is broke and the insurance company says they won't cover the cost of a new one so I can't see your computer from here.

The Outlook email program is not covered in this forum, only Vista's Windows Mail. Did you get the name wrong? In the future, please don't hijack a thread that someone else started. Please start a new one.Gary VanderMolen "Rose Velez" >I can't sent any mail from my outlook, how can i resolve this problem
