Disk Cleanup
Posted by admin on Jun 21st, 2006
Hi I firstly would like to point out that I know NOTHING about computers. I have Windows XP and I would like to clean up my C drive via Disk clean up. It came up with various files such as; Temporary Internet files, set up log files, webclient/Publisher Temp files etc etc. If I removed these files would it 'bin' anything that I need to run my laptop on a day to day basis. Or is it safe just to bin the while lot? From an unsure windows user.Thank you in advance.

You may not have this item in your Disk Cleanup list but if you do, leaving the installer files gets rid of the necessity to put in the Office cd every time you make a change in Office (such as updating). With today's larger hard drives, it's better to just leave the Office installer files. That said, you should be backing up your data on a regular basis. You've posted in a newsgroup for the Vista operating system.
