cmd.exe commands doesnt work anymore

After updating Vista Ultimate with Windows Update, I cant use any of my commands! help...NO! slmgr...NO! even format....NO! Anyone got this problem? (my buddy does)

Does "Run as Administrator", by rightclicking on Command Prompt, work? Does the same hold true for invoking commands in Run (Start Menu\Programs\Accessories) and Command.com (C:\Windows\System32)? If those work, try this command in Run:sfc /scannowwhich might repair Windows. The System File Checker checks all the current system files and can restore the cached approved copies."philip"
