Address Book

Posted by admin on May 14th, 2007

I have just moved my files from XP to Vista on a Laptop. The address book has moved into something now called contacts. When I started an email on XP, I only had to type the first letter or two of the email addess and Outlook would find the full email address. In this new Vista mail it does not. I cannot find how to link it to the new contact list. [and why is the new product worse than the old one?] I would appreciate any help. Best regards, Jim

The issue of addresses not being autocompleted has been widely discussed here the past few weeks. Some say autocompleting starts working if you have sent or received at least one email for that address. Others say the feature comes and goes. Then there's another wrinkle where autocomplete functions on addresses you've sent to but aren't in your Contacts list, and there's no way to purge a mistyped address from the 'phantom' autocompletion list. It's really flaky.Gary VanderMolen"Plonkerbill"
