Access denied to my doccuments folder

Posted by admin on Apr 5th, 2007

Out of the blue I suddenly no longer have access to my documents folder. When I check the security settings for the folder it has a check mark next to all the types of access for my user name but whenever I click on the folder I get a message saying that I have no access to it. Any and all help would surely be appreciated.Ron

"Ron Darby" I did a system restore from a restore point way back when I know that the problem didn't exist but that didn't help.Ron

"mohit" The reference you provided deals with problems arising from upgrading from Windows XP to Vista. In my case I have a clean Vista Premium install.Luckily I discovered my problem and fixed it. When I right clicked on Documents and selected Properties then selected security, along with my name and administrator there was an entry for Everybody but with no permissions checked. I removed the entry for everybody, closed everything out then left clicked on documents. It now opened as it should. Thanks anyway for your help as I was afraid that I would have to do another clean install to fix the problem.Ron
